Our current Titan Trait is gratitude.
Today in guidance we watched this great video. Check it out!
We started the Gratitude Project, just in time for Thanksgiving. We spend some time sending handwritten, stamped, and mailed letters to the people who make a difference in our lives!
Ms. Katie Jo came up with the best MART lesson. That's math plus art. We got five mini tubs of Play-Doh, split them into fourths, and made a turkey according to a fraction recipe!
We spent this week brainstorming solutions and crafting paragraph for our town planner problems. We did an amazing job working with our peers and editing our writing.
Today in guidance we took one minute to be mindful. We turned out the lights, lay on the floor, closed our eyes, and focused on our heartbeat and breath. It worked wonders for our concentration and mindfulness.
We were lucky enough to go to the Center for the Arts yesterday to see a performance by the Creede Repertory Theater. Today, one of the actors came and told us more about the making of the play, the message of the play, and he taught us how to be an upstander!
Today we took our knowledge of perimeter and applied it to the state of Colorado!
We used the map scale and converted inches into miles. It's handy that we live in a pretty rectangular state. Tomorrow we'll find the area. Today we combined math and art with symmetry self portraits.
This project made our brains hurt at first, but we LOVE how they turned out! |
