This week we learned a game called Prime Climb. It's an awesome math game that tests our math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. If you're looking for a new board game at home, this one is a great one to check out.
Now that we know all about the five regions of Colorado, we're working with our peers to make a giant collaborative map. We're including map features like towns, roads, rivers, and ski resorts. We can't wait to put it all back together like a puzzle.
We love reading in the afternoons. We get time to work on Time for Kids, independent daily reading, and reader responses. We're practicing high quality written answers.
Today we got out our Colorado giant map to help us learn about our awesome state.
Ask us about latitude and longitude! We're starting fractions this week, so today we did a fun snowflake fraction warm up art project. First, we cut our snowflakes. Then we glued all the missing pieces on the back. Finally, we had to estimate what fraction of the snowflake we cut out!
We're hard at work on our ExploraVision contest projects. In class we are collaborating with our teams to complete the required writing. Right now, we're writing paragraphs about the present technology that already exists. Then we'll write about how we plan to make this technology better to solve our specific problems. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Fourth grade social studies curriculum is all about home states. Luckily, we live in a great one! Ask us about the five geographical regions. We can't wait to share our learning with you.
