Today we witnessed food coloring magic! Our scientist asked us what would happen if we combined food coloring and oil, then poured the mixture into water. We had a lot of thoughts and we couldn't quite remember which liquids were more dense, but we didn't expect to see fireworks! Food coloring forms bubbles in the oil. Oil is less dense, so it floats on the water. Food coloring then sinks through the oil and creates a beautiful masterpiece as it mixes with the water!
Today we enjoyed an African drumming and movement assembly at the new Center for the Arts. First of all, the new Center is beautiful. Second, it was wonderful to start of this snowy Monday learning about a new culture, listening to beautiful drums and traditional African instruments, and moving our bodies with the beat! Check it out!
