Today we took a tour of the Mountain Roots school garden. We learned about seeds and planted onions that we get to harvest next fall as fifth graders!
We've learned so much about how information is transferred as energy in the form of sound waves. Now, we're learning how information is transferred digitally in binary code. Did you know that computers speak in the numbers 0 and 1? We're practicing decoding and encoding simple pictures for our friends. It's so cool! Do you know your name in binary code?
We just finished our last book club read, The Witches by Roald Dahl. We're taking some time to write creative answers to questions still unanswered. It's interesting to think about why the author made certain choices. It's also fun to come up with backstories for the characters.
Today we had the pleasure of working with RMBL to learn more about the Ute Native Americans who inhabited our lands before us. We learned how they used STEAM principles (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) before it had the fancy label.
