This week we created self portraits as we studied symmetry in math.
I love the range of styles, expressions, identities, and emotions conveyed in these portraits. Today we revisited IDR routines and habits. Sometimes fourth grade gets busy and we don’t always make time to read for pleasure. Today we made a point of picking or continuing with a quality book and settling in for some independent reading time. There’s really nothing better!
We learn the basics in elementary school, but it’s really all just good life lessons.
Have a wonderful winter break! Enjoy the new snow! We had the absolute privilege of learning from Nel Burkett on our tour of Crested Butte’s historic buildings. There are lots of stories out there and we only just scratched the surface. You can find more information here:
Crested Butte Historic Walking Tour This week we celebrated our 100th day of in person learning.
We took some time to reflect on all we have to be grateful for at this big milestone! Today, we took a fraction/decimal challenge. We each wrote a fraction or decimal between zero and two. Then, without talking we had to put ourselves in order from smallest to largest. Check out all the ways to make the number two! We’ve been learning all about the history of Colorado, and we’ve become experts in different areas: Spanish, Explorers, Fur Traders, and the Gold Rush. We’re finally ready to start sharing our knowledge. Together with our groups we’ll be writing news reports, recording them on the green screen, and then sharing them with the world on our virtual museum website!
Today, Ms. Moran helped us prepare a few news report videos and scripts to get us started. |
