GRATITUDE

11/30/2021

Our current Titan Trait is gratitude.
Today in guidance we watched this great video. Check it out!

FOSSILS!

11/29/2021

Picture
Today we started a science unit all about the birth of rocks and other earth processes. We started this exploration with an examination of fossils and made hypotheses for why and how fossils ended up where they are today. Did you know rhinoceros fossils were found in Nebraska and Mastodon fossils were found in Snowmass. What might be found here in Crested Butte?

THE GRATITUDE PROJECT

11/19/2021

We started the Gratitude Project, just in time for Thanksgiving. We spend some time sending handwritten, stamped, and mailed letters to the people who make a difference in our lives!

TURKEY MATH!

11/18/2021

Ms. Katie Jo came up with the best MART lesson. That's math plus art. We got five mini tubs of Play-Doh, split them into fourths, and made a turkey according to a fraction recipe!

TOWN PLANNER SOLUTIONS

11/17/2021

We spent this week brainstorming solutions and crafting paragraph for our town planner problems. We did an amazing job working with our peers and editing our writing.

MINDFUL MOMENT

11/16/2021

Today in guidance we took one minute to be mindful. We turned out the lights, lay on the floor, closed our eyes, and focused on our heartbeat and breath. It worked wonders for our concentration and mindfulness.

SUNSHINE AND FRIENDS

11/15/2021

We earned Seek the Peak extra recess.
The sunshine was beautiful and we love time with friends.

A LESSON FROM THE CREEDE THEATER

11/12/2021

We were lucky enough to go to the Center for the Arts yesterday to see a performance by the Creede Repertory Theater. Today, one of the actors came and told us more about the making of the play, the message of the play, and he taught us how to be an upstander!

COLORADO MATH

11/11/2021

Today we took our knowledge of perimeter and applied it to the state of Colorado!
We used the map scale and converted inches into miles.
It's handy that we live in a pretty rectangular state. Tomorrow we'll find the area.

MATH AND ART

11/10/2021

Today we combined math and art with symmetry self portraits.
This project made our brains hurt at first, but we LOVE how they turned out!
