Halloween fun in fourth grade! We loved getting to see you all at the parade.
Thank you to our room parents for organizing such a fun party! Today we did a Three Act Task about Skittles in the spirit of Halloween. It's so fun to work together with friends and share our different math thinking. What do you wonder from this picture? Now can you solve how many Skittles are in the jar with this information?
We've been working on whole body listening in the classroom and in guidance. Listening is a lost art these days, but it's so helpful when we're learning new things, making new friends, or just following directions. This is a funny video, but the theme is great!
We're so excited to share our Celebrate the Beat performance with you! Check it out!
This week we read Crested Butte newspaper articles to get ideas about problems facing the town and possible solutions already being discussed. It was interesting to learn about Blue Mesa, the backcountry, and the sled hill.
This week we started using Time for Kids to get in our current events. We read about Simone Biles, mental health, the California oil spill, and life in space!
This week we learned the difference between factors and multiples. These math vocabulary words are so important as we move forward in our multiplication unit. It's tricky at first, but we're getting the hang of it and working so hard!
If you need a quick reminder, check out the video below.
Today we finished up our first science unit. We learned how animals body’s work as a system to accomplish movements and actions. For example, a bat uses its ears, an anglerfish uses sensors in its skin, and a shark uses its nose. How does it work for humans?
