Tomorrow (Friday, April 30th) is Arbor Day. The first Arbor Day was celebrated in Nebraska in 1862. On that day, Nebraskans planted one million trees! The day became a Nebraska state holiday in 1972, but is celebrated across the country. Gunnison County Electric Association celebrates Arbor Day as a way to give back to the environment. They shared a hybrid cottonwood sapling with each of us to plant at home! See the pamphlet for more information.
TIME FOR KIDS
We love reading Time for Kids with friends!
This week we learned about the controversy surrounding wolf conservation.
We just finished an amazing collaboration between art, music, and stem (STEAM).
The project was all about synesthesia. This is a neurological condition that causes sound to be seen, art to be heard, and other senses to be felt in amazing ways.
Today we got to present our creations to the second and third graders!
Check it out!

POST IT NOTES
We love using Post-It notes. So...naturally a three act task all about Post-Its was really fun!
Act 1: What do you notice? What do you wonder?
Act 2: More information!
Act 3: The reveal!
BUILDING DAYS ARE THE BEST DAYS
We're really enjoying building the town of Crested Butte.
It's fun to show our learning in a hands on three dimensional way!
WE LOVE LIBRARY
BUILDING IS MESSY BUSINESS
We started building today. The first step is chaos and explosion.
Maybe the next step is organized chaos?
