We've been learning all about our amazing brains with Ms. Stacey in guidance. Our prefrontal cortex helps us make good decisions. Our hippocampus helps us keep memories, remember important things, and learn from our mistakes. Our amygdala keeps us safe. These parts of the brain work together as we navigate each day as a fourth grader. It's not always easy, but we're learning to listen to our brains, regulate our emotions, take a deep breath, and make good choices in the moment.

We started a new read aloud book today! It's called There's a Boy in the Girls Bathroom written by one of our favorite authors Louis Sachar (also the author of Holes​). It's about a boy, Bradley Chalkers, who seems like a bully. We're intrigued to hear a story told from his point of view and can't wait to find out more! Right now, we're analyzing the characters we've met. We're also keeping a log of all the respectful and disrespectful interactions between the characters. We're writing down our suggestions for how they could better Seek the Peak.
