What an amazing trip to the Center for the Arts. We love the chance to learn about music and dance from other cultures. We also love a chance to dance. If you're interested, check out the Kissidugu performance at the Center on Friday at 7:30! Sneak peak below! We are completing a collaborative project in art, music, and STEM. We're learning about synesthesia. Synesthesia is the experience of once sense through another. For example, seeing a piece of music or tasting a color. We're in the planning phase, but we can't wait to share the final project with you!
We sure do enjoy the chance to play with our friends on Friday afternoons. We build forts, create art projects, finger weave, play games, trade Pokemon, and make a mess!
Colorado history is fascinating. This week we learned about the first Colorado industry, the fur trade. We also learned how fashion and beaver population decline lead to the gold rush.
When we finish a book we have some choice in the final project we create to show our understanding. Right now we're creating advertisements for the books we read, comic books to show the plot, and writing letters to our favorite characters.
This is how we learn division in fourth grade. It's a pretty handy method, but might be different than you remember. Check it out if you're helping your child with division at home.
