Ms. Katie Jo made this awesome video highlighting the ways we learn in fourth grade! We've been writing our reading vocabulary on a whiteboard as we come to words we don't know. Today we learned to use dictionary.com to define those words. We worked with partners, sifted through the tricky definitions, and came up with fourth grade friendly definitions.
Today we started to review basic multiplication to get ready for our next math unit.
We worked in partners to complete Versatiles! They're super fun and engaging. "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole live believing that it is stupid." -Albert Einstein - Our read aloud, Fish in a Tree, just keeps getting better and better! Today we learned more about dyslexia and how everyone's brain is wired just a little bit differently; this is called neurodiverisity. If everyone were the same, the world would be a very dull place. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness because kindness is always a choice. Did you know some really creative geniuses are believed to have had dyslexia? (Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and the list goes on and on.)
We use our math board each week to practice math skills and writing about math.
