Today in guidance, we took a deeper look at the word sorry. We all make mistakes, but when we apologize for our words or actions, we cannot take them back. We can make amends, but those wounds may never fully heal. We're trying to live by the words, "Don't be sorry. Be better!"
Somehow it's already February, and we're three Ski for PEs down, two to go.
We love getting to eat lunch in the classroom before we ski! We've been practicing sub traction with the standard algorithm. We're spending extra time practicing when there are lots of zeros on the top. If you need a refresher or want to practice at home, check out this video with your child. We're going deeper with grammar within the context of writing. Up first, we're examining ways to make complete sentences. Can you identify the subject and predicate? Can you use a coordinating or subordinating conjunction? Can you fix a fragment or a run-on?
We've been practicing making inferences in group reading. Now we're practicing in independent reading. We're keeping double-entry journals. We write what we read on one side and what we inference on the other side. It's interesting to see other people's perspectives.
