Today we talked about apples. We cut them up, observed them, smelled them, and then noticed they turned brown. Yuck! We were left wondering what we could do to slow down the browning process. So, we tested out four different liquids: water, milk, lemon juice, and soda.
We found some interesting results. After the experiment, two groups found milk worked best and the other two groups found lemon juice worked best. We discussed how scientists have to do experiments over and over and over again until they are absolutely sure. We talked about how maybe some groups didn't dip their apples all the way in the liquid, maybe some groups mixed up the apple slices and the labels, or maybe we just got different results. We'll have to try again!
