We thought: (a) they would bubble up; (b) they would explode; (c) the water would change color; (d) the top would get all greasy; (e) they would not mix out. Turns out water and oil do not mix. The water is heavier and sinks to the bottom. The oil floats on top. We talked about how this happens with vinegar in salad dressing.
Last but not least, Charlie's mom, Heather, surprised us as the Secret Reader today. She shared one of Charlie's favorite books: If You Ever Want to Bring an Alligator to School, DON'T. It was a great read and really funny! It even had some parts that reminded us of the How To books we are writing right now!
