JULIE WILLE IS THE BEST

Julie Wille came today.  She will be spending the morning with us for the next three weeks and we can't wait!  We are going to be looking at matter.  What's matter you ask?  Well we know that everything around us is made of matter and the three types are solids, liquids, and gases.  We came up with some great examples of each.  Did you know that even though a pillow is soft, it's still a solid?  Did you know that even though snow is made of water it's actually a solid too?

Today we got ready for our experiment tomorrow.  We're going to see what different objects sink or float and try to figure out why,  Some of our hypotheses include:

1. Objects sink because they are heavy and            float because they are light.
2. Objects sink or float because they are made     of different materials.
3. Certain objects sink or float because I have       seen them sink or float in the bathtub or the     ocean and they will do the same in a tub of       water.
