Miss Kylie loves the number ten. We use it all day, everyday. Today we reviewed our combinations to ten with a fun game. Once you know how all the ways to make ten you can apply it to the biggest numbers in the world. Check out the two different ways we played.
Hold up a number on your forehead without looking. Your partner tells you how many more you need to make ten. Work backwards to figure out the number you have. Then say an addition or subtraction sentence! Or make it a challenge and say the whole fact family!
For example, [3, 7, 10] ---> 3+7=10 7+3=10 10-3=7 10-7=3
If you like bigger numbers the same concepts applies to infinity! Hold up a number on your forehead without looking. Your partner tells you how many more (or less) you need to get to the nearest 100 (they have to tell you that 100 group too). Then you say the addition or subtraction sentence to go along with it!
For example, 30 more to get to 400 ---> 370+30=400
