Turns out we were pretty close. Lee mixed rubbing alcohol and air in a bottle under pressure with a bike pump. The pressure condensed the molecules in the rubbing alcohol. When he released the cap, the molecules expanded and made the rubbing alcohol evaporate into a cloud. This fit in perfectly with our study of states of matter.
