SKIP COUNTING AND MAKING MAPS
We're talking about repeating patterns in math. Today we started to talk about repeating patterns that increase over time. If I have two pennies today and I add two more everyday, how many will I have on day ten? This is a fun way to practice counting by different intervals.
Then we started making a class map. We're working in teams of six to create different parts of the school: the playground, downstairs, and upstairs. Today we made the legend. We decided what elements would be important and what symbols made sense. This is quite the teamwork exercise! We worked together really well and took turns writing and creating symbols.
