Yesterday, Gavin shared with use how to defy gravity. Turns out gravity and air pressure can work against each other to blow your mind. Fill a glass jar with water. Cover the opening with a piece of cardboard or paper. Turn the glass upside down. Remove your hand. THE WATER STAYS IN THE CUP! The cardboard acts like a lid. Mr. G told us that this works with a small screen too! Thanks Gavin!
Then Mr. G came. We did the coolest experiment with floating water (but it was really more like a water fountain). It tied in nicely to what we learned from Gavin. Check out the pictures below and ask us to explain how it works. Hint: air takes up a lot of space...
