The Historian
 | Lucien read the news and gave us a great summary of what happened in Chile on April 22nd...only a week ago. A large volcano, Calbuco, erupted. It covered some towns in ash and also caused a pretty major lightning storm at the same time. The pictures are amazing! Check them out here. Glad we're all safe and away from volcanoes. We all remembered that that cooled lava forms igneous rocks. Chile will probably have a lot of new rocks in their future! We also got to take a look at Chile on the map. We figured out it's in South America and a pretty funny shape! |
The Scientist
| Avery taught us above the cave formations: stalagmites and stalactites. She also taught us a cool way to remember the difference..."c" is for ceiling and "g" is for ground. She is using solutions of baking soda/water and Epsom salt/water to make her own. The formations will take about a week to form and we can't wait to see what they look like. Thanks Avery! |  |
