THE POWER OF YET

The word yet is powerful stuff.  We're learning about growth mindset in first grade and that instead of "I can't" we can say "not yet," because this is only the beginning!  The best is yet to come!

Today we read The OK Book​, which talks more about being OK!  The character in this book (over there on the left) is an OK marshmallow roaster, an OK tightrope walker, an OK climber, and an OK pancake flipper.  "I'm not great at all [of these things], but I enjoy them just the same." Here's the cool part..."One day, I'll grow up to be really excellent at something.  I don't know what it is yet...but I sure am having fun figuring it out."  We think this book was written just for first grade!
