WRITING ABOUT MATH
Today we started writing about math problems. We're already experts at solving them, so the next step is to talk about them and write about them. For example:
Laura had 5 fish and her mom gave her 1 more.
Frank had 1 fish and his mom gave him 5 more.
Laura said, NOT FAIR.
Can you explain in a sentence to Laura why it actually is fair?
We said: Laura it IS FAIR because 5+1=1+5. You both have the same number of fish.
